Mental health issues affect a significant portion of the adult population, with nearly 1 in 5 adults experiencing conditions such as anxiety or depression. Despite increased treatment options and access to care, many individuals do not receive mental health services. Efforts to destigmatize mental health and expand funding and telehealth services aim to support those in need.

Additionally, a substantial number of people in the US live with intellectual or developmental disabilities, including autism spectrum disorder. Further information on mental health and developmental disabilities is available from the National Institute of Mental Health and other sources, including the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
