A new decree allows for the creation of private companies with more than 100 workers. The Consejo de Estado published Decreto-Ley 133, which gives the green light to these companies. This new figure adds to the existing micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises that were established in 2021.

The decree was published in the Gaceta Oficial and will come into effect seven days later. It is part of 176 economic and social transformations approved by the Cuban government.

These private companies will be known as S.R.L. or S.U.R.L., depending on the number of owners, and will be allowed to open secondary locations in other provinces. Further details on the implementation of this decree are available from the source.
