A newly redesigned fire truck with a UTEP theme will be unveiled during an annual September 11 memorial ceremony. The truck, known as Pumper 8, features UTEP's signature colors and design elements. It is expected to arrive and undergo final preparations before entering service in late September or early October.
Pumper 8 will be assigned to a fire station near the UTEP campus once in service. The truck's responsibilities will be the same as other department vehicles. Its design pays tribute to UTEP.
