A recent survey of 13 to 17-year-olds found that only 30 percent of adolescents reported that a teacher had discussed safe AI use with them. This suggests a lack of education on AI safety among young people. The survey was conducted by Common Sense Media and included questions about AI literacy, including how to stay safe and how to determine the accuracy of chatbots.

Michael Robb, director of research at Common Sense Media, noted that conversations about AI safety are not happening in most cases. The creation of "deepfakes" is already common among young people, highlighting the need for education on AI safety.

Further details on the survey and its findings are available from Common Sense Media.
