A new record has been set for the hottest summer in 132 years. This surpasses previous records, including those from 1936 and 2021. The previous records had been tied, but now a new high has been reached.

The summer of 1936 was once considered the standard for the hottest summer, but it has now been exceeded. Records for August and the June-through-August period have been broken, with July being the hottest month on record.

Further information is available from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, which released the data.
